Creating a Fade Material Transition Effect in 3dsmax

Choose “Composite Material” beetween the 3dsmax material list, and add two material inside it, the base material (wood in this case) and another one over it(gold).

In the opacity channel of the upper material add “gradient”

activate auto-keyframe in the timeline and change the parameters as shown in the image.

Go forward with the timeline and change the the parameters again as shown in the image.

That’s all!…the effect should appear then like this!
